Clifton Park, NY, June 12, 2008 (4 p.m.) – NYSEG is completing repairs to its electricity delivery system that was damaged during the storm Tuesday afternoon, resulting in 10,800 NYSEG customers in the area losing power. Fewer than 20 customers remain without power. Restoration efforts are continuing, and all customers are expected to have power restored by 6 p.m. today.

Customers without power should contact NYSEG at 1.800.572.1131. Also, NYSEG reminds people to stay far away from any downed power lines and to report them to NYSEG and 911.

“We appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding while we went about our work, and we would also like to thank the highway departments, volunteer firefighters and everyone else who assisted in these restoration efforts,” said Mark Leta, NYSEG’s manager - regional operations.
