NYSEG COMPLETING POWER RESTORATION EFFORT

Liberty, NY, June 12, 2008 (9:30 p.m.) – NYSEG is completing repairs to its electricity delivery system that was damaged during the storms on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in more than 12,000 customers in the area losing power. Less than 100 customers remain without power as of 9:00 p.m. Restoration work is continuing and all customers are expected to have power restored on Friday.
Customers without power should contact NYSEG at 1.800.572.1131. Also, NYSEG reminds people to stay far away from any downed power lines and to report them to NYSEG and 911.
