FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Oneonta, NY, October 31, 2008 (8 p.m.) – NYSEG has restored power to all but 300 customers in the Oneonta Division who had lost power as a result of severe damage to the company’s electricity delivery system from Tuesday and Wednesday’s storm. The company expects to have all service restored by noon tomorrow.
As NYSEG completes its power restoration work, customers who still do not have power are asked to call 1.800.572.1131.
“As this storm emergency winds down, there are a lot of people who deserve thanks,” said Bill Sears, NYSEG’s director - regional operations. “The assistance of law enforcement and emergency services personnel, local officials, highway crews and countless others made our work much easier; we certainly appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding as we continue to go about our work; and our employees are doing a terrific job.”
NYSEG’s Oneonta Division includes all or parts of Otsego, Delaware, Greene, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Schoharie, Ulster, Chenango and Broome counties.
