NYSEG HAS RESTORED POWER TO MORE THAN 33,000 CUSTOMERS
IN COLUMBIA, RENSSELAER, SARATOGA AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mechanicville, NY, December 18, 2008 (6 a.m.) – NYSEG has now restored service to more than 97% of the customers who lost power as a result of the devastating ice storm – approximately 970 customers remain without power.
An army of nearly 700 NYSEG, RG&E and contract line, tree and support personnel is continuing to make excellent progress in restoring power in NYSEG’s Mechanicville Division. NYSEG expects to restore service to all customers by noon today.
“As we complete our final circuit sweeps, it may be necessary to take brief power interruptions to make localized repairs to our electricity delivery system. Customers in Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington Counties who are still without power should call our electric emergency number at 1.800.572.1131”, stated Mark Leta, NYSEG’s regional operations manager.
