Rochester, NY – NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, has awarded a $169,000 economic development grant to Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc. for utility infrastructure investments for a recently completed chill tunnel expansion at Upstate Niagara’s North America Drive location in West Seneca.

“NYSEG is pleased to support Upstate Niagara’s continued growth and the benefits it brings to the region,” said Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E. “We are proud to be a key player in preserving jobs and bringing new jobs to upstate New York through our long-standing economic development programs. The grants we provide are excellent catalysts to help businesses grow.”

“The funding that we received from NYSEG’s economic development team helped us to expand our product cooling capacities in the most efficient manner, allowing us to bring additional high-quality dairy products to market,” said Joe Duscher, chief operating officer of Upstate Niagara Cooperative.

The NYSEG grant is part of approximately $40 million NYSEG and RG&E have invested in economic development over the last four years.
