NYSEG’s Plattsburgh Employees Put Safety First, and the Results Speak for Themselves
Plattsburgh, NY – NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, is committed to providing safe, reliable service to customers, ensuring public safety and maintaining a safe working environment for employees. The company’s 80-plus Plattsburgh Division employees have taken those safety commitments to heart to reach a notable milestone on July 17: three years without an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-recordable injury or illness.
“When it comes to safety, our goal is zero incidents. This outstanding result turned in by our Plattsburgh employees is clear evidence that when each of us takes responsibility for our own safety and the safety of our colleagues, achieving zero is possible,” said Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E. “We are especially proud of this safety record because of the potential hazards that many of our front line employees deal with every day.”
NYSEG’s Plattsburgh Division employees work in electric and natural gas field operations and associated support groups, customer service, system protection, fleet operations and hydro operations. They provide service to approximately 42,000 electricity customers and 3,900 natural gas customers across parts of Clinton, Essex, Hamilton and Franklin counties.
