NYSEG Seeking Proposals for Alternatives to Natural Gas Pipeline
BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK — December 18, 2017 — NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), a diversified next generation energy company, is seeking proposals from developers for innovative, alternative solutions to address gas reliability, demand and/or supply in NYSEG’s service area in Tompkins County. Proposals for the Lansing Non-Pipes Alternatives should also include resources able to address current and future demand in the area of Lansing, New York, where a natural gas moratorium for new customers currently exists.
“We strongly support an innovative approach to address reliability challenges,” said Michael DeAngelo, program manager, Non-Wires Alternatives, AVANGRID. “This is the first location we are evaluating for potential alternative solutions to maintain reliability and capacity needs associated with the NYSEG gas distribution system.”
This Request for Proposals (RFP) reflects the company’s evolution as a next generation energy company. A pre-bid conference is scheduled to take place January 12, 2018. Information from this conference will be shared with all interested parties. Questions should be submitted in writing to email@example.com.
