NYSEG Continues Restoration Efforts

PLATTSBURGH, NEW YORK — May 7, 2018 11:30 a.m. — NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc. (NYSE: AGR), continues to make considerable progress in repairing damage from the weekend’s violent storm. Due to collaborative efforts of company, contractor and mutual assistance personnel, NYSEG anticipates restoring the nearly 1,700 customers who remain without power by 11:45 p.m. tonight, Monday, May 7. Customers may experience service interruptions today if workers need to de-energize portions of our system in order to safely complete restoration work to other customers. In addition, some isolated services may remain out of power, particularly in remote areas or locations where the Company has to coordinate with customers who need to make repairs to their own equipment.

NYSEG currently has more than 1,600 personnel responding to the storm with crews assigned to every outage.

This storm affected residents across the NYSEG and RG&E service areas. The Companies hardest hit area was NYSEG’s Plattsburgh division, with the most significant damage in Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties.

NYSEG President and CEO Carl A. Taylor said, “We’re encouraged with restoration progress made thus far and we will not lessen our efforts until we restore every last customer.”

NYSEG continues to work closely with county and town emergency management personnel and appreciates the coordinated efforts shown in this recovery effort. The Company is committed to working closely with customers who require equipment repairs prior to the completion of restoration efforts.
