NYSEG default option

Option 3. NYSEG Default Supply Option

This option consists of a variable NYSEG supply charge, a fixed transition charge, and a fixed delivery charge. The supply charge changes each month as the market price of electricity fluctuates.

Residential and nonresidential non-demand billed customers who receive electricity supply from NYSEG and did not enroll by 7 p.m. on December 30, 2008 were automatically placed in this option.

Selecting the NYSEG Default Supply Option
If you select this option, you will remain on the NYSEG Default Supply Option through December 31, 2009, unless you choose to switch to a supplier other than NYSEG, also known as an energy services company or ESCO.

When can you enroll?

  • Eligible customers on the ESCO Price Option may enroll in this option at any time. Please contact your current supplier to discuss any contractual obligations you may have with them before terminating your agreement.
  • Eligible new customers or existing customers who are moving within our service area may select this option during the first 60 days of service.

Is this your current pricing option?
Customers currently enrolled in the NYSEG Default Supply Option can switch to the ESCO Price Option at any time.  You must contact a supplier to make this selection; they will enroll your account for you.
