On Friday, January 14, 2011, an e-mail containing transmission system information was inadvertently sent to a merchant function employee. The employee was immediately notified of the error and did not read the e-mail.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2009, NYSEG began notifying certain of its Key Accounts customers and public officials of potential electric power contingencies that could impact the ability to serve load for the high-load summer months of 2009. An ongoing outage of a critical high-voltage transformer at an Elmira area substation resulting from an ice storm in February, 2008 increases the possibility and severity of such a contingency during this period. This notification included possible mitigation efforts by these customers, as well as by NYSEG, designed to prevent or limit the occurrence and duration of any outages.
