Motorists Urged to Use Extreme Caution
Elmira, NY, December 2, 2010 – On December 7 and 8, motorists on I-86 between exits 54 and 56 in the Elmira/Horseheads area will encounter rolling roadblocks that will enable NYSEG to safely remove and replace power lines that cross the highway in the vicinity of Route 13. The work will take place between approximately 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. December 9 is a backup date for the work. The rolling roadblocks are designed to keep traffic moving while NYSEG crews complete the power line replacement.
Electricity service will not be interrupted.
The New York State Department of Transportation, New York State Police and NYSEG urge motorists who will be in the area to slow down, pay close attention to signs and police vehicles, and to use extreme caution in the work zone.
