NYSEG Makes Further Progress with Restoration Efforts in Brewster and Liberty Divisions


BREWSTER, NY May 19, 2018 7:00 p.m.  NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc. (NYSE: AGR), continues restoration efforts to customers affected by this weeks severe thunderstorm and area tornadoes. As of 7:00 p.m., approximately 7,000 customers were still without power in the region. A workforce of more than 2,100 company, contractor and mutual assistance personnel is working safely and efficiently to restore power across the region particularly in the hardest hit areas of Putnam and Sullivan counties. NYSEG continues to add restoration personnel and will continue to do so until the work is complete.

NYSEG continues working toward restoring the majority of the remaining customers without power by 11:45 p.m. tonight with the exception of a few small pockets of customers in highly damaged areas that require rebuilding of customer and company infrastructure. Estimated time of Restorations (ETRs) will be updated this evening for those hardest hit areas that will not be completed today.

Customers may experience temporary service interruptions over the next couple of days if crews need to de-energize portions of the system to safely complete restoration work to other customers. Crews will continue to work after all customers are restored to complete a system-wide patrol to ensure that all repairs are complete.
