Starting November 1, 2007, NYSEG will offer electricity customers the opportunity to select an electricity supply option that will be in effect January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. NYSEG will post the estimated fixed electricity supply price component of the Fixed Price Option for the year 2008 on this Web site in September  and October 2007.

What is the electricity supply price?

NYSEG buys electricity on the open market. The estimated supply prices published here are based on current market estimates of the commodity price component of NYSEG’s Fixed Price Option for the year of 2008. Current market estimates of the commodity component for 2008 provided to NYSEG by independent sources (which include power marketers) are used in developing these estimates. Customers can use this information to determine which supply choice is best for them.
