Our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Rebate Program delivers energy efficiency options in two key ways:
- Prescriptive rebates for a broad range of specific, predetermined measures.
- Custom rebates for projects that require site-specific assessment and cost analysis, and are not eligible for any prescriptive rebates.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
This program is open to NYSEG nonresidential commercial, industrial and institutional customers and municipalities that pay an electricity and/or natural gas System Benefits Charge (SBC) on their utility bills. More eligibility information can be found here

Lighting and Controls: New fixtures or one-for-one fixture replacements within existing buildings. Effective April 1, 2014, we’ve expanded the list of qualifying lighting equipment to include more LED applications and controls. We’ve also increased rebate amounts on many eligible items. Click on the Lighting and Controls Overview or Rebate Application below to see what's new.
Effective April 1, 2014, LED measures that do not qualify for our prescriptive rebate program may be eligible under our custom rebate program.
Note: For detailed eligibility requirements and a list of qualifying lamps and ballasts, please go to the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) website at cee1.org.
Natural Gas Furnaces, Boilers and Controls: Rebates for installation of condensing boilers, hydronic boilers, furnaces, steam boilers, controls and thermostats.
Unitary HVAC and Air-to-Air Heat Pumps: New purchases or replacements for failed equipment, usually in smaller commercial and retail facilities.
Large central air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial buildings.
Site-specific, cost-effective measures for retrofit opportunities, including LED measures that are not eligible under the prescriptive rebate program. Review our participation instructions for the custom rebate program here.

PLEASE NOTE: IRS Form W-9 must be on file with NYSEG before C&I rebate program payments can be made. Program applicants (parties receiving payment) are asked to include IRS Form W-9 along with other required rebate application materials. IRS Form W-9 is available at www.irs.gov.
