NYSEG Honored by the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve

Company recognized for its ongoing support of military veterans and reservists

Binghamton, New York — April 25, 2019 — New York State Electric & Gas, a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc., today announced it received the Department of Defense Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Above and Beyond Award.  The award honors employers who have provided active military Guard and Reserve employees with additional assistance to help offset lost wages, and extended health benefits while employees are called to active duty to serve our country.

NYSEG has an ongoing history of supporting U.S. military veterans and reservists. Since 2014, the company has received several Patriot Awards from the Department of Defense (ESGR). The company was nominated for the 2019 Above and Beyond Award by an electric line worker, who is currently deployed and serving overseas.
