NYSEG Preparing for Weekend Nor' Easter

Storm to Pack Heavy Winds; Power Interruptions Possible

BREWSTER, New York — October 26, 2018 —  NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID, Inc. (NYSE: AGR), is monitoring weather forecasts in advance of a potential nor’ easter that will blanket the region. There is a particular focus on NYSEG’s Brewster (parts of Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties), Liberty (parts of Orange, Sullivan, Delaware, and Ulster counties), Mechanicville (parts of Columbia, Saratoga, Rensselaer and Washington counties), and Oneonta divisions (parts of 11 counties) where rain and wind are likely to start this evening into Saturday. Customers are urged to be attentive to weather reports and prepare for the possibility of service interruptions.

NYSEG has storm readiness teams in place and, in addition to company line and tree resources, has contract line crews ready to respond to outages. NYSEG encourages customers to sign up for Outage Alerts to receive updates automatically by phone, text, or email as the company updates the status of any restoration progress specific to their electricity service. Power Restoration Priorities

NYSEG’s first priority is to respond to known incidents of downed power lines to make the situations safe. NYSEG customers are asked to call 1.800.572.1131 to report downed wires. The company will assess the damage to the electricity delivery system, develop a detailed restoration plan and make repairs and restore power to all affected customers as quickly as possible.
