Circuit 590 Rebuild
As part of our commitment to provide safe, reliable service to all our customers, New York State Electric & Gas Corp. (NYSEG), in conjunction with our parent company – AVANGRID, is updating the delivery system in our service areas. These upgrades comply with new electric transmission reliability requirements. While making investments to meet the community’s growing energy demands, we are working closely with our neighbors to ensure that all improvements are performed with minimal disruption to the environment and the communities we serve.
Circuit 590 Rebuild
To comply with more stringent reliability standards issued by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), we are planning an upgrade of certain components of the electric delivery systems in the towns of Warsaw, Gainesville and Castile. Specifically, we will be rebuilding Circuit 590 to improve the asset condition, reliability, and maintenance requirements of the line for NYSEG customers.
This upgrade will enhance the integrity of the entire transmission system in your local area.
Project Scope
- Rebuild the 12.5 mile existing pole line between South Perry Substation and Warsaw Substation.
- Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) cable will be included in the new builds to provide grounding and communication functions.
