We strive to give back to the communities that have supported us by undertaking responsibilities in the neighborhoods where we work. Our corporate sponsorships and community service programs are designed with one goal in mind: to care for the people we serve.
Project SHARE Heating Fund
More than $15 million has been distributed to customers experiencing energy emergencies.
We believe in supporting causes that are important to the local communities where we operate, and those that are closest to the hearts of our employees. Our employees get involved by joining their friends and family across our service territories to devote their time and talent to the causes they care about. Whether cleaning up a park, donating blood, preparing hot meals, or serving as a volunteer firefighter or EMT, Team NYSEG/RGE answers the call! We not only work here – we live here – and we are proud to be part of building strong communities through volunteering.
Our parent company AVANGRID has a goal of reaching 35,000 volunteer hours annually by 2025 – and we are well on our way. There are thousands of qualifying non-profit organizations across New York that our employees can choose to support listed on our Energized for Good platform. For these qualifying organizations, the AVANGRID Foundation matches employee giving 50 cents for every dollar, up to $1,500 per year. And, when our employees volunteer at eligible charitable organizations, their impact is two-fold. That’s because for every hour they volunteer at an eligible organization, the AVANGRID Foundation donates $15 to that organization – up to $1,500 (or 100 volunteer hours) per employee.
We are in your neighborhood – identifying volunteer projects, distributing energy efficiency kits and other items to assist customers in need, and working with municipalities and counties to identify even more ways to help.
