NYSEG and RG&E Appoint Presidents
Presidents at each Company will expand jurisdictional, local leadership
Two new leaders will serve the specific needs of each operating company
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — June 12, 2025 — New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric (RG&E) have each appointed new presidents to align with a more jurisdictional model, providing direct, local leadership at each operating company and reporting to President and CEO Patricia Nilsen. Both positions are effective immediately.
“We are pleased to welcome these two experienced leaders to our New York team,” said Patricia Nilsen, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E. “I look forward to working closely with them both to fulfill our top priority – the safe and reliable delivery of electricity and natural gas to our customers.”
At NYSEG, Marc Geaumont will serve as president. Marc is joining the Company from Northline Utilities, where he was the regional business director for the Northeast, with the responsibility of oversight of operations, including staffing, forecasts, run-rates, and bidding processes. He also worked at NYSEG’s sister company, Central Maine Power, as a manager of regional operations before joining Northline. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
At RG&E, Al Langland will serve as president. Al has transitioned from his role of senior vice president of gas operations at Avangrid, NYSEG and RG&E’s parent company, to lead RG&E. He has been with Avangrid since 2022, with roles of increasing responsibility in a variety of operations positions. Prior to joining Avangrid, Al was a director at Eversource Energy. He holds a bachelor’s of engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
These leadership appointments align with the jurisdictional model NYSEG and RG&E have adopted in compliance with the New York State Public Service Commission’s recent management and operations audit recommendation. More local oversight will ensure that customers’ needs are central to the presidents’ priorities, and that the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas and electricity to each of the Companies’ 17 divisions is achieved.
