NYSEG Expects All Customers to Have Power Restored by 11 p.m. Saturday
Additional damage to poles and circuits discovered during response efforts
Dry ice and bottled water distribution continues until 8 p.m. at Pawling Fire Department in Brewster division
BREWSTER N.Y. — June 13, 2026, 4:15 p.m.— New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG) crews have discovered additional damage to poles and circuits in the Brewster division during their response to this week’s storm and now expect to have service restored to all customers by 11 p.m. on Saturday. The Company will continue to support its customers who are without power by distributing bottled water and dry ice at the Pawling Fire Department until 8 p.m.
Details about the distribution event are below. The event will continue until supplies are exhausted.
Saturday, June 13, 2026 | Until 8 p.m. |
Pawling Fire Department 25 South Street Pawling, NY 12564 |
Event will continue until supplies are exhausted |
Since Thursday afternoon, more than 15,000 customers in Brewster division - which includes Dutchess, Westchester, and Putnam Counties – were affected by storms. Currently, fewer than 400 customers are without power.
Fallen trees are the primary cause of the outages. Not only have trees damaged multiple poles and circuits, they also fell into the road, blocking access for crews to make the necessary repairs. While crews now have improved access to respond to the outages, additional damage to poles and circuits were discovered.
NYSEG encourages customers to check online for their individual estimated times of restoration which will be updated as efforts continue.
NYSEG urges customers to remain away from storm debris as it may contain downed wires or other damaged equipment. Customers should assume all downed wires are energized and dangerous and should be reported by calling NYSEG’s emergency line at 1.800.572.1131 or contacting 911.
NYSEG will provide regular updates to the general public until complete restoration via the Company’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and X). The company also offers customers the following reminders to stay safe during a power outage:
