NYSEG Work at Cadyville Dam Will Affect Upstream Saranac River Water Level
Plattsburgh, NY – NYSEG, a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, has begun the seasonal maintenance of flashboards at its Cadyville Dam on Saranac River in Cadyville. To ensure worker safety, this work requires lowering the water level in the Saranac River just upstream of the Cadyville Dam.
The flashboard maintenance is scheduled to begin at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28 and is expected to be complete at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, May 29. The water level upstream of the Cadyville Dam should return to within the normal range on Sunday, May 31.
NYSEG urges those who take advantage of recreational opportunities near the company’s hydroelectric generating facilities and dams to use caution and be safe.
