Commercial Load Management and Rates

Load Management Technologies Incentive Program (LMTIP)

Our Load Management Technologies Incentive Program (LMTIP) is currently at capacity and is not accepting new applications at this time.

LMTIP provides incentives for eligible load management technologies at EV charging sites, including energy storage systems, energy management software and load management hardware solutions. The program helps provide a better and faster charging experience for drivers while limiting overall infrastructure and ongoing operational costs.

For information on LMTIP, including budget and funding availability and technical requirements, read our program brochure or visit the Joint Utilities of New York's website. For questions about current or future program availability, contact our LMTIP partner, Franklin Energy, at evmr@franklinenergy.com.

Electric Vehicle Phase-In Rate

What is the EV Phase-In Rate?

The Electric Vehicle Phase-In Rate (EV PIR) is a new commercial electric rate that helps offset demand charges for eligible accounts with EV charging. It’s available to customers on select demand rates with qualifying load factors and is designed to support sites as EV charging usage grows. Learn about the NYSEG Phase-in Rate by reading the program guide.

Electric Vehicle Phase-In Rate FAQs

Many commercial customers face demand charges, especially when new EV chargers create occasional peaks in usage. The EV Phase-In Rate provides cost relief by reducing qualified demand charges and gradually transitioning customers to standard demand charges as usage becomes more consistent.

The EV Phase-In Rate is available to select commercial customers with EV charging. Eligibility depends on how much EV charging contributes to overall electric usage, and an advanced meter (AMI) capable of interval billing is required. Some customers enrolled in other incentive programs may not be eligible. Eligibility may be reviewed if site conditions change.

A completed PIR application and an Electric Load Form are required for the EV Phase-In Rate.
