NYSEG Continues Efforts to Restore Customers in Hard Hit Brewster and Liberty Divisions After Powerful Thunderstorms
BREWSTER, NY — May 17, 2018 4:30 p.m. — NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc. (NYSE: AGR), continues restoration efforts to customers after severe thunderstorms pummeled the area with wind gusts topping 78 mph. The National Weather Service has also confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in New York. More than 100,000 customers have been impacted by the storms.
As of 4:30 p.m., approximately 23,000 customers remain without power in the Company's Brewster Division serving portions of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties. More than 10,000 customers remain without power in the Liberty Division serving portions of Delaware, Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties. A workforce of nearly 1,800 company, contractor and mutual assistance line and tree crews from Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada will continue to work until all customers are restored.
NYSEG anticipates restoring 90% of customers in the Brewster Division by Friday, May 18 at 7:00 p.m. and 100% of customers the following day by 7:00 p.m. Current customer outages by county are as follows:

Today, crews continue to focus on more than 1,500 downed wires and 388 broken poles as well as transmission segments in the two divisions. Critical facilities remain a priority and collaborative work continues with municipal partners on the state and local levels to clear roads. The company appreciates the support and cooperation it has received from county Emergency Operations Centers, fire and police departments, municipal officials and our customers during our restoration efforts.
