NYSEG Continues Restoration Following Gusty Winds and Heavy Rain - 5 p.m.

BINGHAMTON, NY - April 16, 2018, 5 p.m. - NYSEG, a subsidiary of AVANGRID Inc., continues to respond to outages following heavy rain and gusty winds. Approximately 40,000 NYSEG customers have been impacted. As of 5 p.m., there are approximately 8,500 customers without power in some of the hardest hit areas including Chenango, Columbia, Dutchess, Sullivan, Rensselaer, Delaware and Washington counties.

NYSEG currently has more than 1,000 personnel working on storm response efforts. Crews and contractors will be working throughout the day and evening to make conditions safe and restore power as quickly as possible. As updated estimated times of restoration become available, information will be available at nyseg.com.

NYSEG encourages everyone to stay away from downed power lines. Even lines that appear dead can be dangerous.
