EDI Test Schedules

ESCO/Marketers who are interested in becoming EDI compliant with NYSEG must meet the following requirements:

  • Be identified on a list by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) staff as Phase 1 certified.*
  • Be NYISO approved (electric only) with load buses assigned.
  • Provide all documentation required.
  • Successfully complete Phase III testing with NYSEG.

NYSEG will perform testing with up to six ESCO/Marketers at one time. This testing group is referred to as a "batch." The schedule for NYSEG 's testing batches is below. Please contact your NYSEG representative to request and enroll in one of the following available batches.

* If ESCO/Marketer changes 3rd party providers to one that is not Phase 1 certified, the ESCO/Marketer will need to recertify Phase 1.

The Single Bill test is contingent upon completion of a Core test. An ESCO who has completed Core testing in a previous batch and wishes to now test Single Bill that ESCO will need to participate in some set-up work during the Core test batch period immediately preceding the Single Bill test batch.

Further detailed information about EDI testing can be found in the PSC's Orders regarding Case 98-M-0667 in the Technical Operating Profile document and supplements. The test schedule is subject to change.

Effective January 1, 2003, all new electric and/or gas suppliers applying for approval in NYSEG's Service Territory must first successfully complete EDI Core Testing as part of the approval process. New suppliers will be required to satisfy all application requirements, including creditworthiness criteria of NYSEG and the NYISO prior to being accepted into an EDI test batch. This new requirement will require up to 3 weeks to complete. Those interested in a Utility Bill Ready Consolidated Bill will require up to an additional 3 weeks of testing.
